Calling all Mom bloggers

So I guess I didn't scare you off, huh? Good! Welcome back!

Be sure to check out Moms in a Blog and add your blog to their directory! And while you’re there, make sure you browse through and read some of the articles. They’ve got a lot of great stuff there, contributed by some ladies that really know what they’re talking about (unlike me…haha.)

And if you’re one of those people who love to help others in need, please please check out Wish Upon a Hero. Its a social helping website where people can request and grant wishes. Some of them are simple – diapers, birthday cards – and some are more sizeable, like housing and transportation. I’ve spent a lot of time on there tonight and managed to help quite a few people with little things like birthday cards, stickers for little kids, school supplies and even just links to where they can find information about work-at-home jobs or help with marketing and advertising. Even if all you can afford are a few thoughts and prayers, its worth a visit.

I took Bubba with me to Wal-Mart tonight and he enjoyed helping me out with it. One of the wishes we’re granting is a birthday card for a young man his age, Bubba picked out a card for him.

It feels really good to help others, especially since its kind of in honor of my grandmother. See, my mom just got her share of the money from the sale of my grandparents’ house. If you’ve been with me here for a while, you might remember that I’ve lost all of my grandparents between November 2004 and March 2008. Well with both of my maternal grandparents gone, my mom and her siblings sold the house (to one of their third cousin’s) and the profit is split between them all. And with her share, my mom is going to help me upgrade my computer and my cell phone which will save me some money. So thanks to my grandparents, I had a little extra money that I could use for Wish Upon a Hero.

So thanks, Memaw and PawPaw. I miss you.

Time for some link love

In the process of learning all of this website stuff for my VA website, I’m learning about SEO, keywords, external links, etc. and since this blog has been around longer it has more stats so I’ve been playing around with it, seeing who or what is linking to my posts. And I realized that there are quite a few people who have me listed on their blog as blogs they like.

That makes me happy See? —->

But I want to make sure that I’m returning the favor. So if you’ve got me listed on your “blogs I like” or your blog roll or whatever you call it, leave a comment and let me know! I am really bad about not updating stuff on my sidebars, including my links so if I don’t have you listed already its not that I don’t read or like your blog. I’m just a flake.
