A whole week of reviews and giveaways
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Two things you should know:
1) I have been very busy over the past two weeks with some work stuff, some personal stuff, and being sick. (I quit smoking to get healthy and right after I quit, I get sick. Figure that one out.)
2) I have been very fortunate to have some amazing opportunities to do some product reviews and giveaways.
Now let’s do the math. Busy/sick + lots of reviews = I am way behind on posting reviews and giveaways.
So I decided last week that I would make make this week “Review-a-palooza” and make the daunting task of catching up into something FUN for me and for my fans readers. (That’s why you haven’t seen many posts from me lately. I’ve been writing the reviews during my usual blogging time but not publishing them so I could save them for this.)
Stay tuned and pay attention! There just might be something in it for you!
P.S. I’m also going to be doing some more recruiting for Sissy’s Baby Shower, so if you or someone you know has a pregnancy or baby related product to donate or even if you just want to contribute a gift in exchange for some linkage, let me know!
Almost forgot!
I have giveaway winners and awards to post, both of which fall under the “These Put Me In a Good Mood” category. So now that I have totally bummed everyone out, which I really hate doing, here’s some good news.
Winner of the Yoplait Kids yogurt prize pack:
Jessica at http://momforhim.blogspot.com/
Congrats, Jessica! Keep an eye out for an email from me so you can send me your mailing address.
Winners for the Cocoa Puffs Combos cereal coupons (good for one free box)…I have a surprise for this one. Since there were only 7 entries and one of those entries won the Yoplait Kids prize pack, that left 6 other entries. I only had 4 coupons to give away BUT…because the people from Cocoa Puffs Combos (specifically Amanda from their PR firm) are so awesome, they’re throwing in 2 more coupons. So that means that everyone who didn’t win the Yoplait prize pack gets a free box of Cocoa Puffs Combos! (Be ready to buy another box. The kids and I were practically fighting over who got the last bowl.)
So congrats to Mariana, Jessica, Janet F, Mary, Karin, and “Fruitbearer”. And thanks to Amanda and Cocoa Puffs Combos!
I’ll be sending emails to all of you to get your mailing address but if you see this before I get around to it, feel free to just send it to me at ThatCrazyMom at Gmail dot com.
Now for the awards…
First from Apple Blossom Designs who passed the Brillante Blog Award on to me
And from Lydia at On The Verge, an award I’ve hoped to get for a really long time because I think its totally cute
Another one from one of my favorite bloggers, MammaDawg
I always have a tough time picking people to pass these on to so I’m going to try something a little different. I want to pass these on to everyone who subscribes to my blog, either by email or feed, because you are “brillante” and you do rock! So I want all of my subscribers to grab these awards, post them on your own blog (or save them on your computer in case you ever do start a blog since I know some of you don’t have one yet) and leave me a comment with a link to your blog.
Cereal and yogurt and prizes, oh my!
I love it when I get the opportunity to write reviews of products I already like and new products from companies I already trust. And I like it even more when the companies give me the opportunity to share them with you by providing giveaway prizes. This time I get to do all three!
First, there’s the new Cocoa Puffs Combos cereal. Before I tell you about that one, I need to confess something. When it comes to cereal, I am so far from being a grown up. If I have to choose between something sweet with a cartoon character on the box and something with bran and wheat and some kind of coated cluster thing, I’m going for the stuff that’s going to leave me some flavored milk when I’m done. But now that I have to steal from share with my kids, I’m a little more conscious about what’s in the cereal.
The good news is that Cocoa Puffs Combos is made with whole grain and is a good source of Calcium and Vitamin D. The better news is that this stuff is good! I’m a fan of Cocoa Puffs as it is (see “flavored milk” reference above) but now they’ve added vanilla puffs to the chocolate ones. I hope somebody got a big fat bonus for coming up with that idea!
The other product that we had the chance to try is Yoplait Kids yogurt. Naturally, I jumped on the chance to review it because its already a favorite in my family. In fact, I had a Family Pack of Yoplait (strawberry and strawberry banana) in my fridge at the time and had kiddy yogurt on my shopping list so Princess wouldn’t eat all of mine. Usually, she gets the Dora yogurt or the drinkables or those Go-gurt tubes. But this time, she picked out the Trix yogurt. And she loved it.

Now if you’re worried about the nutritional value of Yoplait Kids, here’s some stats for you. It has brain building Omega-3 DHA and is a great source of vitamins A and D. Yoplait Kids is also an excellent source of bone-building calcium with 25 percent less sugar than the leading kid’s yogurt and no artificial sweeteners or flavors.
Ok, before I get to the giveaway part, I wanted to let you know that you can go to the Yoplait Kids website and get a coupon for $1.50 off. So you saved $1.50 just for reading my post.
You’ve also got a chance to win one of these:
- 1 of 4 coupons for a free box of Cocoa Puffs Combos
- A Yoplait Kids insulated travel cooler and a fun, educational game along with it
All you have to do is leave me a comment letting me know which one you’d like to win. You don’t have to pick between the two. If you’d like to win either one (or both), just say so!
The giveaway will end on Sunday, August 31st. I’ll close comments at 8 PM Central then pick 4 numbers for the cereal coupons and then another number for the travel cooler and game. (Even if you win one of the cereal coupons, you’ll still be eligible for the second prize too.)
Got it? Good! And good luck!
Busy Body Book winners
Probably not a good idea to end giveaways at midnight unless you wanna stay up that late. But I did. And its 1 a.m. and I’m up and I have two winners. (No, I didn’t stay up for this. I was working on projects until about 12:30.)
Anyway, here are my winning numbers:

#110 is Megret whose answer about how she would use her BBB was “Definitely our kids! Thanks!”
#82 is Audrey (who happens to be a dear friend of mine but I swear this isn’t rigged because there’s no way I could have picked just one person to favor in this). Audrey said “I use a planner that is the academic year. I’ve done so for years now”
Congrats, ladies! If you see this before I get around to emailing you, send me your mailing addresses. Otherwise I’ll contact you tomorrow when I’m awake.
