Hey, if this is your first time here, subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
That’s what Princess has declared today. Oh she doesn’t mean “blue” as in sad or depressing. She is just randomly assigning colors to various days. After all, if Friday can be “Black Friday” then why can’t there be a Pink Saturday, a Green Sunday and a Blue Monday?
That child of mine has an amazing imagination. She writes stories. She writes songs. I even have a video on YouTube of her playing her Hannah Montana guitar as she sings a song about waiting for me to pick her up after school….something about “Mom picking me up at the end of the day” which I think might be the name of the song.
And here I sit bragging about how creative my kid is after having a semi-intelligent debate about the term “Mommy blogger” and how so-called Mommy bloggers talk about stuff besides their kids, ya know. The reason I say semi-intelligent debate is because it was with myself and there can’t really be anything fully intelligent about debating with yourself, can there?
I know some people can be pretty ferocious about that “Mom blog” label whether they love it or hate it. Me, I’m on the fence about it. On one hand, I don’t like being defined by my ability to reproduce. But on the other hand, I am a Mom and I do blog and one of the topics I blog about is my kids. So what’s wrong with being called a “Mommy blogger” anyway? I’ve made some great connections - and I don’t just mean the business kind, I also mean friendships - through this blog. Why should anyone be taken less seriously as a blogger because they’re a mom?
More importantly, who gives a crap? Call me what you want. I’m not offended by the Mommy blogger label nor do I desperately cling to it. I’ve been called worse things than a Mommy blogger.
I just like blogging about my kids and how cool and smart and funny and annoying they are. So let’s go back to that, shall we?
Another one of Princess’ newest things is Snoopy. We watched ‘Snoopy, Come Home’ on TV the other day and she bawled like a baby when Snoopy left to go be with his other owner, that little girl in the “hosipal” (which is Princess-speak for “hospital.”) She cried so hard she fell asleep doing that sobbing thing. Yet she went back for more. It came on again and we watched it…again. Then we found it on YouTube and she watched it…again.
I don’t really have a point to this post which is why its kind of all over the place. These are just some of those things I wanted to write out so I can come back to it later and laugh about how when Princess was 6, she used to give color names to the days and she cried over a Peanuts cartoon.

Dude, you totally have me crying. That’s what I use my blog for. Mommy blogging. To remember the things Andrew said and did, long after we stop laughing about them, or shaking our head. LOL
Happy Blue Monday to you and Princess!
