Need an organizer?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Guess what? I have one for you! No, seriously, I’m giving away TWO Busy Body Book academic year planners.

Before you start scrolling down to find how you can enter, I want to tell you what makes this one different from all of the others and how someone like me - a single mom, working at home, running a business, and juggling doctor’s appointments and court dates - is getting a LOT of use out of it.

Busy Body Book

Here’s some features the Busy Body Book offers:

2 Monthly Planners
One to record all of your monthly events like birthdays and anniversaries, one to schedule dates for next year. Makes it easier to transfer all of that information when this BBB runs out and you buy another one for 2009-2010.
Months-at-a-glance
An overview to help plan ahead for the holidays, vacations, or special events. Each page shows three months at a time so you’re seeing 6 months worth when you’ve got the BBB open to check your schedule.
Key contact pages
2 Pages for your emergency contact information, doctors, coaches, babysitters…even a section to list addresses and phone numbers for your favorite restaurants and take-out places.
Removable shopping lists
Perforated pages for creating handy grocery or gift lists. I love these! Each page is divided up into four “to do” lists and you can just tear the list off and take it with you or give it to someone. I’ve used it for a grocery list for a quick trip to the store when I didn’t need to carry my whole purse and I used it to write down an email and website address for someone.
2 Pockets
Inside front & back covers provide a deep pocket to hold important papers, receipts, coupons. Usually I just throw receipts away or they end up in the bottom of my purse but now that I need to be more careful about saving business receipts, these pockets really come in handy.
Bookmark
Easily flip to the current week with this unique bookmark that grabs the spiral (especially if you’re like me and you never know what day it is.)
Notes
Lots and lots of note pages! And each week has a section for notes called “To Doodles” with little reminders like “tax season is coming up” or even “plan your yard sale” and “clean out the garage”.

(And the front and back covers are protected by a durable plastic in case of spills and stuff.)

The best part about the BBB, though, is the five column grid layout. Instead of trying to cram everything in the same little square on a regular planner, this one gives you one column for five different schedules. Use one column for you, one for your spouse/partner, one for each kid. Use it as a health & fitness planner and use one column to track your meals, one for cardio, one for weight training, etc. Or if you’ve got a student in the family, they can use one column for each subject. Whatever you’ve got going on in your busy life, you can fit it all on one page instead of having to carry some big bulky planner.

Ok, your reward for reading all of that is a chance to win one of these Busy Body Book Family Organizers. I have two of them to give away so there will be TWO winners. You can enter to win by doing two little things for me. First, visit the Busy Body Book and take a look inside to check out the layout of the BBB. Then come back here and leave me a comment telling me what you’d use the planner for. Goals? Clients? Kids?

That’s it! I’ll take comments until 12 midnight Central time on August 1st, so the winners will get their planners just in time for the school year (its an academic schedule so it runs from August 08 to September 09).  Then on August 2nd, I’ll let Random.org pick two numbers based on the number of comments received and I’ll post the winners here. Make sure you leave an email address if you don’t sign in with one or your blog URL so I can contact you if you win!

P.S. They also have Jan-Dec BBBs if you prefer to do your organizing by calendar year. Bookmark the site so you’ll have it when its time to start doing your holiday shopping!

I need that. I was just putting a new organizer/dayplanner type of thing on my shopping list. My old one has been toddlerized and sharpied a bit too much. :)

  2. Dr.Daisy on July 23rd, 2008 9:35 pm

Ooooo, I love organizers and am in desperate need for another:) Would love to win one:)

  3. Bonnie Sayers (autismfamily) on July 23rd, 2008 9:42 pm

This is really nice and convenient. I homeschool my 13 yr old and this would come in handy for that and I plan on returning to the gym and can keep track of that as well.

I like the pockets for coupons and receipts. I currently use an analysis pad that has five columns to record my expenses and a smaller book to note bills and could utilize this for the bills to be due. I like writing down dates for the following year as well.

  4. tangie c on July 24th, 2008 12:30 pm

With 3 kids, 2 in school, and myself being a teacher, of course I need an academic planner like this:)

  5. Willow on July 24th, 2008 5:09 pm

That’s too funny; I just recently twittered that I need an organizer and was wondering whether to do print or electronic. For me, it would be handy for keeping up with all of the hubster’s meds, refills and doc appts, my new business stuff, one kid in college and one kid in high school and, oh, yeah, maybe some of my own personal stuff! This is a great giveaway, April, thanks!

  6. micaela6955 on July 24th, 2008 5:58 pm

This would be great to use for just everyday stuff-appointments, birthday reminders, bill due date reminders, etc… It looks big enough so I can write quite a bit for each day, most of the organizers have small areas to write in-and I need lots of room for lots of things going on! Thanks for the giveaway, I’d love to get organized!

  7. regina on July 25th, 2008 2:00 am

woo hoo! I would love to win one of these, and the site is pretty cool. I love the idea of the fridge grid for my kids who are still in school but for me the BBB book would be great. Of course i love the floral but if I were to win one a prize is a prize and really appreciated!!
With being new to TX an organizer would be great for job interviews, school appts, and staying organized!
    Well, I’ll cross my fingers!

  61. Aubrey on July 30th, 2008 1:27 pm

I love to be organized and most planners are too small or don’t have enough spaces for all your lists. I’ve gotten to the point that I need an organizer for all my Organizers!!

  62. Ashley on July 30th, 2008 1:51 pm

I would use this thing to function. lol. I have a bazillion and one “lists” all over the house, and I’ve never heard of this thing! It looks cool! I’ve seen the tiny planners, the huge bulky ones, but rarely ever do I find a nice one that doesn’t weigh more than my child. –Without ugliness all over the front of it. So, I would use it to hold my lists (rather than my couch and coffee table and fridge and bed holding them), and to keep track of appointments, giveaways, mtgs, and everything else. Oh, and shopping lists. Bc without those, I’m dust. :) Thanks for the giveaway! Going to check out more of your site now!

  63. Angie on July 30th, 2008 2:14 pm

Ok..so I just had to buy a bigger purse to fit in all of these things that are in the BBB. This thing would save my life!!

    Thanks,
    Angie

My son will HOPEFULLY be getting more involved this year too.

I also have a home business so this would help me to keep track of orders and when to reorder supplies.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  105. Jennifer M on August 1st, 2008 3:45 am

This has a lot of features. I’d use mine for keeping track of family activities, especially doctors appointments for my daughter.

  106. Lindsie on August 1st, 2008 7:34 am

I would use it for all of our busy family’s events!

  107. Alexandra Hancock on August 1st, 2008 7:51 am

I definitely need one of those. I have a 9 month old and I am still in school. Only two semesters left. So I need a planner to be on top of things. :)

I’d use mine to keep track of when all the bills are due, when we have appointments (doctor, dentist, etc) and when my homework is due for my MBA classes. Thanks!

With school approaching, this would be great to manage all the newer going ons!

  112. Jennifer H. on August 1st, 2008 11:59 am

I would use it just to try to keep my busy life organized. I work full-time, am a part-time student, and do a lot of volunteer work. All this + trying to have some sort of social life. I’d be thrilled to win. Thanks for the chance.

Would love a new organizer! Just getting used to the scheduling confusion of family, work, and personal commitments. Phew, who knew being a grown-up would be so difficult to manage. These are also super cute! Nothing like being on-th-go in style.

  114. Crayl on August 1st, 2008 1:30 pm

Since my hubby is a musician and has a lot of clients, students and gigs, plus I have part time jobs and appointments, homeschool our son , and added our 18 year old back home with her own work and school schedule, well, yeah, a smart organizer sounds great. Thanks for a chance

  115. Tiff@Three Peas on August 1st, 2008 1:37 pm

    ok…I SO need this! :)

  120. Laura on August 1st, 2008 10:23 pm

I’d use this to juggle my work and personal schedules - something I’m seriously awful at right now!

  121. Joy @ Joy Of Desserts on August 1st, 2008 10:36 pm

The entire family’s schedules would go in here, including husbands’ floating days off, son’s swim team practices and meets, my choir practices and concerts, our volunteer work at church, school meetings, school field trips and events, blog ideas etc., appointments and even fun and relaxation time. We’re a busy family in need of a good organizer each year.

Thank you for the chance to win this organizer.
