I’m so excited

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

And I just can’t hide it! (Ok, don’t hate me for getting that song stuck in your head. How many of you are old fortunate enough to remember the Saved by the Bell episode where Jessie got hooked on speed and freaked out and sang that song over and over?)

Anyway…two great things going on. First, I’m loving all of the recycling tips I’m getting from my first giveaway post.

And second, tomorrow is the Grand (Virtual) Open of my new VA business. I’m nervous and excited! It may not seem like that big of a deal to anyone else and I don’t really have any kind of celebration planned but this just marks the first big step in my new venture. If I turn this into a success, July 1st will be my anniversary date, so I wanted to make sure I marked it on my calendar.

If you’re a WAHM, a small business owner, a VA or you know someone who is any of those things, be sure you send them to Advantage Virtual Assistant. And if you have any words of wisdom or encouragement, make sure you stop by my VA blog and leave a comment.

Sharing the Love Award

I received this special “Sharing the Love” award from Dette at Muthahood Crib who received it from Sue at Stay at Home Mom, who received it from Spice from Spice World, who received it from Crystal at Memoirs of a Mommy.

From the Share the Love Award creator:

“The rules of this award are: SHARE THE LOVE!!! Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same**

As you may have recently seen on my side bar, I have finally created a custom blog award!! I have wanted to do this for a long time but never came up with something that “fit”. I didn’t want just anything. It had to be something that meant something to me. And what could mean more than Sharing the Love by giving you pieces of my heart??

So I created this award in Honor Of The Donor That Saved Noah’s Life. I share this award with those of you whose love and friendship have enriched my life and made my world a better place.

I hope by passing this award around the blogging world we can all help raise awareness of the need for Organ Donation.”

And now I’m passing it on to some wonderful ladies:

Michaelle @ Monkey’s Momma
Kimberly @ All About Kimberly
Cindi @ Moomettegram’s Musings
Terry @ Struggling Parents
Kim @ What’s That Smell?

I’m hosting my first giveaway!

Remember a few posts back I talked about my addiction to giveaways? Well now I get to host my own! Its nothing major - no MP3 players or fancy car seats - but its still very cool.

Thanks to MomCentral and Recycline, I have two of these Recycline toothbrushes to give away to one lucky TCM reader.

This isn’t your average toothbrush. Thanks to a partnership between Preserve and Stonyfield Farms, these toothbrushes (and some of their other products) are made from recycled yogurt cups. Princess, who learned all about recycling on Earth Day and has been obsessed with it ever since, thinks that is just the coolest thing. She even chose her new recycled toothbrush over her Hannah Montana Tooth Tunes toothbrush. (P.S. They also offer Preserve Jr., a kid-sized toothbrush.) They also have other “green” products like razors, tableware, and kitchen products.

So…back to the giveaway part. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment with your best recycling tip. Make sure you include your email address or blog URL in case you win. I’ll take comments until July 6th, 6 PM Central and then I’ll pick a winner using Random.org.

Good luck!

Where the hell is Matt? And who is Matt?

I’ve seen this video on two different blogs I subscribe to so far today and there’s something about it that’ll just make you smile and wonder if we take this whole Life thing too seriously sometimes.

Remember me?

Yeah, its that one chick. Ya know…That Crazy Mom? Yeah, yeah…that one. Hi.

Every night I tell myself “Ok, I need to go update my blog, just as soon as I get done with this one thing…” but we all know how that goes.

Anyway, I’ve been busy as hell getting ready for my “grand (virtual) opening” of my business and most of my free time - what little there is between work and the kids - has been spent trying to figure out what I want on my website, getting all of my forms and stuff ready, and learning everything I can about marketing and networking.

I have a ton of stuff to tell you all about but I don’t have time to do it all now so here’s what’s coming up this week.

  • My brand-spanking-new fancy professional website done by Silicon Post courtesy of a giveaway I won from Internet Marketing Sweetie
  • Hosting my very first ever blog giveaway
  • The cool stuff I get to try out thanks to Mom Central and their sponsors and advertisers
  • Something my friend Dette shared with me/tagged me with

And I’ll be updating my blog links section on my sidebar finally!

But the most exciting thing that happened this week is the news that I will finally get to see my Bubba. My only son, my baby boy who I have not seen since February (thanks to that asshole his father) will be here for a month! I’m driving down to Kansas City on Saturday to pick him up, meeting one of my friends from the Internets for lunch, and then driving back home.

So stay tuned, don’t leave me, and light a fire under my ass if I forget to post about any of the stuff I mentioned.
